Why is it a bad idea to get into a fight in Thailand, and what could happen if you do?

ทำไมการทะเลาะวิวาทในประเทศไทยจึงเป็นเรื่องไม่ดี และจะเกิดอะไรขึ้นหากคุณทำเช่นนั้น?

I lived there for 19 years. 3 years in a Thai prison for fighting. No basketball, no recreation, 50 to a room on the floor and shit food. Your embassy will make sure you get some extra food as Thai prisons have a commissary where you can buy hard-boiled eggs, fruit, and other necessities.

If older, it could easily be a death sentence from the conditions. When you first arrive, they put you in a waist chain with handcuffs leading to the waist and chains to your thighs. Thais say it's so you won't commit suicide- sort of bullshit. It's to control you and teach you to behave. For reference a simple shoplifting charge carries 2 years in prison.

Thailand has very draconian laws. Usually you can bribe your way out but if not YOU'RE SCREWED BIG TIME!

Also, guns are quite legal and Thai men can have insane tempers and they just might shoot you.

Look up the murder of Ernie Del Pinto in Mae Hong Son Thailand by a Thai cop. The cop also shot his pregnant friend Carly Reisig in the chest who wasn't even involved- cop was drunk when he shot them. Cop was a vicious thug and walked free.

Shortly thereafter he learned his 18 year old girlfriend was pregnant so he beat her to death with his nightstick in front of his like 10 year old daughter- then they convicted his ass.

You can Google all I've said. I speak Thai but don't read or write it.

Harry Nicolaides, who criticised the king of Thailand in his book "Verisimilitude", was sentenced to three years in jail in Thailand for insulting the royal family. The Australian writer has been in prison since August.
